To raise funds for conducting psychological therapy for Ukrainian women who were sexually assaulted by the russian occupiers or witnessed it.
What's needed?
will help cover the cost of 100 therapeutic sessions.
Why is it important?
In our society, the issue of sexual violence is often stigmatized and silenced. In addition, remembering the experience brings emotional distress and can lead to retraumatization. Therefore, most female survivors of violence choose to remain silent.
Yet, it is unlikely to cope with such trauma on your own!
“Traumatic experience, like a giant snowballing, knocks you down, and it seems impossible to cope. Intrusive thoughts and anxiety returning again and again. But can it be changed? Is there life after the trauma of sexual assault? Definitely yes! Professional psychological therapy gives a woman hope for a better tomorrow, the opportunity to live a fulfilling life — says Anna Grubaia, therapist of the GIDNA project.
GIDNA helps women who have survived sexual violence cope with the consequences of psychological trauma and find inner support and strength to move on.
The therapists focus on working with the trauma of violence and regularly receive supervision from the Israeli Trauma Coalition (ITC), which deals with the psychosocial support of the population during various types of disasters.
The GIDNA project is anonymous, and meetings are held online at a time convenient for women.
