The purpose

To raise funds for the LEVCHYK Spectrum Hub in Lviv, which has been providing free correctional help for children with autism spectrum disorders for the third year in a row.

All of the hub's pupils are IDP children. They were forced to leave their homes and are now building a new life in Lviv. Support and therapy provide them with the opportunity for further socialization and development. €60,000 will cover six months of the hub's activities and help 50 families.

What's needed?

  • Equipment for correctional therapy
  • Hygiene products, household chemicals
  • Covering the hub's administrative costs
  • Paying specialists: speech therapists, rehabilitation specialists, ABA therapists, sensory integration specialists, and specialists in correctional therapy.

Why is it important?

Any stress experienced by a child with autism can significantly damage their sensitive psyche and cause long-term developmental delays. Simultaneously, time is a valuable, crucial resource for children with ASD and their parents.

Due to the war, thousands of Ukrainian families raising children with autism were forced to leave their homes and move to safer cities in Ukraine. That is why we created LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB in Lviv to help displaced children on the autism spectrum overcome the effects of stress caused by the war and adapt to their new place of living.

The hub provides free help to IDP children who have a confirmed diagnosis from a psychiatrist in the form of a medical certificate and a referral from the Inclusive Resource Center (IRC). We will give priority to IDP children, as they are the ones who experience the most devastating effects of stress and need help adapting to relocation.

In a special room, children on the autism spectrum can relax and redirect their visual attention to tactile, olfactory, and auditory sensations, contributing to the formation of new neural connections.
