Fall is a time to learn: what's new at LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB?

Autumn is a time for learning hard. To achieve the best results of corrective therapy, the LEVCHYK team always aims to set the purpose of learning in planning class schedule for children on the spectrum.

In September, 35 IDP children with ASD visited the LEVCHYK hub. During the month, 411 correctional classes were held:

  • 182 sensory integration classes;
  • 149 classes on ABA therapy;
  • 48 classes with a speech therapist;
  • 32 classes with a child neuropsychologist.

Twice a week, children have classes in a dark sensory room, and recently also in a newly created music therapy room. A dark sensory room helps children with ASD relax from external stimuli and focus on tactile sensations.

The music room features electronic drums, a synthesizer, guitar, and drymba and orchestral triangles. Through music, children express their emotions, develop talents, and sometimes become so immersed in the process that they can dance and sing. This has a therapeutic effect on the overall emotional state of children on the spectrum. Playing stringed instruments also develops fine motor skills. Playing simple melodies trains children's memory, sense of rhythm and improves hearing.

The diversity of specialized classes contributes to positive results in the development of children on the spectrum. We are truly excited with the first syllable read, the first sentence uttered, and the children's sincere delight in the skills they learned.

Our sincere gratitude to all our donors, granters, and, particularly, patron Vadym Stolar for the constant financial support of LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB. Your help is the key to the regular hub operations, which has become a pillar for Ukrainian IDP families raising children with autism.
