Prosthetics for the Ukrainian military in Washington, DC. Digest 4.0.

From rehabilitation sessions with prosthetists to kayaking and attending varied events, this is how our military who are undergoing prosthetics in the United States spend their daily time and weekends. This week was no exception and has been full of events and emotions, which we are excited to share!

Hard work daily and exercises from rehabilitation therapists are the key to successful and high-quality prosthetics. Our men are making every effort for this!

Kayaking has already become an integral and important part of the rehabilitation process for our military.

"Kayaking opens up completely new opportunities and gives me a sense of independence from other people. While I'm on the water, I feel that even with limited physical capabilities, I can feel freedom of action!", shared his impressions of one of the defenders, Oleg Luchin.

To make walking on prostheses comfortable, prosthetists constantly improve it and adjust to each defender individually.

Our military visited MCOP's Adaptive Sport Symposium, where they saw that in the modern world, there are many opportunities to lead an active life even with complex amputations: skiing, wake surfing, and other sports.

On 18 May, the men also attended the Captured freedom: Free Azovstal Defenders event to remind the world about Azovstal's prisoners and met Oleksandr Chaika, the first to be prosthetised by the foundation.

"I remember myself a year and a half ago at this place. My path to recovery, just like the men's, was not easy or quick. No, you need to sweat and make every effort in this business. But one thing I know for sure is that after prosthetics, there is a full and happy life worth fighting for!" Sashko inspired and shared his experience with the soldiers.
