Together with the specialists of the MCOP clinic, we continue to work on rehabilitating our soldiers. Ivan and Serhii are actively learning how to use their new prostheses, not just taking their first confident steps but also learning how to dance and fall properly. These skills will certainly come in handy in everyday life. Please read more about the new challenges in mastering prostheses and Ivan and Serhii's cultural program in the USA in this digest.
3.10 Rehabilitation
The men continue to train actively, following individualized programs to fully master their new prostheses. Constant training is the key to the best results, even if DOMS accompanies it. Our defenders are working hard and have not forgotten their main goal! We are grateful to everyone who supports them, especially to our regular patron Vadym Stolar.
5.10 New challenges
Our defenders have received functional prostheses that allow them to walk and even dance! Ivan and Serhii tested that when they danced on their new prostheses at the wedding of one of our volunteers.
6.10 Cultural diplomacy
The defenders attended a private event at the Ukrainian House dedicated to cultural diplomacy. They experienced how the beauty of Ukrainian culture could be used to remind everyone of the war in Ukraine. At the event, the men met the Ambassador of Taiwan to the United States, prima ballerina Natalia Matsak, and the soloist of the National Ballet of Ukraine Mykyta Sukhorukov.
7.10 Falling down and getting up
Ivan and Serhii continue to train with physiotherapists. During one of the training sessions, the defenders learned how to fall with their prostheses. This is a crucial skill in everyday life: to fall properly so as not to bruise or damage the prosthesis and stand up independently and safely.
8.10 Performance of the National Ballet of Ukraine
This time, the defenders attended the premiere performance of the National Ballet of Ukraine in the United States with the participation of special guests — the Ukrainian folk dance ensemble Shumka. Special thanks to the Ginsburg Family Foundation, Princeton Entertainment Group, and HUMANITE for organizing such an important cultural event and tour that strengthens cultural ties between Ukraine and America and raises funds to help Ukrainian families affected by the war.
10-11.10 Training & Rehabilitation
To ensure that Ivan and Serhii's new prostheses serve them well, the specialists of the MCOP clinic regularly train the men and make the necessary changes to their prostheses.
We are grateful to everyone who makes the defenders' dream of returning to active life come true! Special thanks to the MCOP clinic specialists who help the men on their way to recovery.
