Support for women who have survived sexual violence during the war

This amount will help cover the cost of regular anonymous psychological consultations for women, as well as supervision sessions for therapists within the psychological support program for 20 Ukrainian women, and also provide informational support for the “Gidna” program.

Sexual violence, unfortunately, is widespread during armed conflicts and is often viewed as an inevitable consequence of war. It is a weapon used against peaceful and vulnerable civilians. Sexual violence remains a devastating phenomenon with harmful consequences for the women affected, as well as for their families and entire communities.

Sexual violence can lead to severe physical and psychological health consequences for survivors. The goal of the GIDNA program is to support women and provide them with psychological assistance to help them overcome traumatic experiences and build inner resilience, enabling them to move forward in life. That is why psychological support is absolutely essential.

The consultations are provided anonymously and free of charge. Our psychologists have many years of experience specifically in working with trauma caused by violence. They have undergone specialized training with psychologist Ruth Doron from the Israel Trauma Coalition, which focuses in particular on trauma resulting from sexual violence and the mental impact of war.
