Our team delivered another 140 wheelchairs to the regions at the request of citizens. This time, FFU delivered humanitarian aid to the city of Zbarazh, Ternopil region, at the request of the Regional Health Department. This is another part of the wheelchairs from the supply we received from Japanese partners as part of the Japan Wheelchair Program for Ukraine.
Representatives of the Special Medical Supply Base asked our foundation to provide wheelchairs to help citizens affected by the war and their families. Less than a week after the request, our team delivered the wheelchairs to Zbarazh. They will be distributed among the city's hospitals.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has granted us a special status for the shipment, which means that we comply with all the rules of international humanitarian transportation. Thanks to this, Future for Ukraine was able to get delivery from Japan to Poland from a large international logistics company, NYK. This, in turn, will allow us to significantly reduce logistics costs in the future.
Olena Nikolayenko, General Manager FFU Poland, volunteer curator of Strategy and Development at FFU Ukraine said that the demand for wheelchairs is constantly growing:
"Unfortunately, the war has already caused an incredible number of casualties, and their number is constantly growing. The number of Ukrainians who cannot move independently is also increasing, which means there is a growing need for wheelchairs. The appeal from the Health Department of the Ternopil Regional State Administration is another proof that, alas, the problem is relevant throughout Ukraine."
We are very grateful to our Japanese partners, donors, philanthropist Vadym Stolar, and everyone who supports our efforts to help Ukrainians.
