2024 once again proved that children's dreams unite! We started last year with the Christmas on the Spectrum charity project to help autistic children make their dreams come true — learn to spell their first words, control their emotions, and not be afraid of crowded places. Tiny dreams united many caring people, and throughout the year we actively collaborated with the leading Ukrainian businesses and partners for one common goal — to fulfill the Ukrainian children’s dreams, whose peaceful lives were destroyed by war.
LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB
2024 was a breakthrough in hub development, and the number of remedial classes with children with ASD has significantly increased. We launched the following unique therapeutic and developmental classes for children on the autism spectrum:
- dark sensory room;
- classes with a neurotherapist;
- music therapy room;
- school preparing classes;
- art therapy room
Each of the above activities is very important for children to acquire new skills, improve their world perception and better understand themselves, and increase their self-control and socialization levels.
The LEVCHYK teaching team has undergone a series of training on the following topics:
- Sensory integration in the speech therapist’s work
- Development of expressive and receptive speech
- Introduction of a sign-based alternative communication system
- Introduction of an alternative Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
In 2024, we introduced testing using the Merrill-Palmer-Revised Scales of Development (MPR), a world-renowned method for comprehensively assessing five areas of early childhood development. We are especially grateful to the FFU patron Vadym Stolar for the smooth and efficient operation of the children’s space.
During the year, LEVCHYK provided over 8,500 special classes for 55 IDP children with autism spectrum disorders, which are essential for the full development of children with ASD and their adaptation to life in society.
