The awards ceremony for the regional Charitable Kyiv Region 2025 competition took place in Kyiv on August 18. Future for Ukraine Foundation won first place in the Charity in the Social Sector category and received the competition’s highest honor — the amber Angel of Good statuette.

The regional Charitable Kyiv Region 2025 competition is held as part of the national Charitable Ukraine 2025 competition. This year, philanthropists from Kyiv and Kyiv Region submitted 474 applications. After reviewing them, the Expert Council selected the finalists across 14 categories.
The Charity in the Social Sector category, in which Future for Ukraine was named the winner, received the highest number of submissions, with 64 applications. The category recognizes organizations that provide consistent support to people, develop social services, and create long-term solutions for society.
Olena Nikolaienko, President of Future for Ukraine (USA), Strategist, and International Fundraising Leader for the Foundation.“The Angel of Good is a recognition of the entire Future for Ukraine team. Behind every program are people who turn the support of our partners and donors into tangible assistance every day: helping someone regain mobility, receive psychological support, access opportunities for development, or obtain quality medical care. For us, this award confirms that systemic philanthropy truly changes lives and strengthens society.”
The Foundation’s results from just one month illustrate the scale of this work. In June 2026, 65 people with lower-limb loss joined its prosthetics program, while ten participants completed the full prosthetics and recovery cycle. At the LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB centers in Lviv and Mykolaiv, 96 children received specialized support, with the teams delivering 1,149 developmental and therapeutic sessions during the month. Meanwhile, GIDNA psychologists held 205 sessions for women who had survived conflict-related sexual violence, as well as women whose loved ones were missing or held in captivity.

The amber Angel of Good statuette is often described as the “Oscar” of Ukrainian philanthropy. It is presented to the winners of the national Charitable Ukraine competition and its regional stages. For nearly 20 years, the competition has recognized philanthropists, volunteers, business representatives, and the most effective charitable initiatives in Ukraine and abroad.
Dmytro Kostyrko, co-organizer of the Charitable Kyiv Region competition“An awards ceremony held despite air-raid alerts and shelling is a ray of light in dark times. It draws attention to the good work of philanthropists and volunteers and inspires Ukrainians”
Together with his wife, Olena, Dmytro has organized the competition in Kyiv Region for many years as a regional stage of the national Charitable Ukraine competition.
This summer, Future for Ukraine was also named a prizewinner in the national Charitable Ukraine 2025 competition. The Foundation placed second in the Charitable Event of the Year category for organizing its annual Go to the Future run in support of veterans with limb loss, which the team has now held for three consecutive years.
