Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has significantly increased the need for comprehensive rehabilitation care. One of the greatest challenges healthcare facilities continue to face, particularly in the regions, is access to modern rehabilitation equipment.
With grant support from The Pfizer Foundation, Future for Ukraine purchased and donated a Vitea Care PD180 Parapodium Dynamic Adult Stander to the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise Ovruch City Hospital.
The new equipment will enable the hospital to provide high-quality rehabilitation care to 500 patients annually who are unable to stand independently or have significant mobility impairments. These include veterans recovering from severe wounds and injuries, as well as patients with neurological conditions.
The standing frame will be used in the rehabilitation of:
— veterans recovering from injuries;
— patients recovering from strokes and severe trauma;
— people with neurological conditions;
— children with cerebral palsy who require specialized rehabilitation.
Early mobilization into a standing position is a key stage of rehabilitation. It helps prevent complications, improve muscle strength, circulation, and balance, and supports patients in regaining functional independence.
By supporting hospitals across Ukraine’s regions, Future for Ukraine aims to expand access to modern rehabilitation services that help people regain mobility, independence, and quality of life.
