On July 12, the Future for Ukraine Foundation team handed over medicines from a partner to the City Children’s Hospital № 5 of the Kharkiv City Council. Currently, 147 children with disabilities are treated here under constant rocket fire.
Twenty-one boxes of medicine weighing 245 kg were sent from the USA by the Ukraine Medical Relief — a non-profit organization of Rochester Health Foundations, created by the Ukrainian diaspora. The FFU team organized the delivery of medicines to the institution.
City Children’s Hospital № 5 in Kharkiv helps Ukrainian citizens and their family members, in particular affected by the war on the territory of Ukraine.
The specialized institution provides psychoneurological assistance to children of the city and region with serious illnesses — epilepsy, cerebral palsy, genetic pathology, the consequences of injuries, and infectious diseases. About 50% of patients are children with disabilities from large or single-parent families. The hospital also has a department for children with incurable diseases who need palliative care (Children’s Hospice).
We thank the Ukraine Medical Relief team for the trust and support of Ukrainian children. It is crucial to remember now about the people who, even in peacetime, were the least socially protected.
