Ukrainian Ruslan Valiahmetov lived with his wife and 13-year-old son in Berdyansk when the war broke out. On April 17, the Valiahmetovs decided to evacuate from the orc-occupied city to Zaporizhia.
The man drove the family through Andriyivka, Kuibysheve, Polohy, and Orikhiv. While inspecting the car at the checkpoint in Polohy, the russians found a flag in their belongings. A small flag of Ukraine was a present to his son on Independence Day.
After the inspection, the occupiers started beating Ruslan on the hands with the gunstocks, twisted him and threw him to the ground. The aggressors were in a state of either drug or alcohol intoxication and harassed his wife. The family was released 30 minutes after the senior's arrival.
Despite a broken arm and a dislocated shoulder, Ruslan managed to drive the car and bring his family to Zaporizhia. Upon arrival at the destination, the man went to hospital #5. CT and X-ray showed fracture with displacement and dislocation. According to doctors, Ruslan needed surgery and implants: an elbow plate with screws.
Ruslan is currently undergoing rehabilitation. We have covered the costs of Ruslan's operation and wish him a quick recovery.
FFU receives many applications for metal osteosynthesis systems — the connection of bone fragments with titanium plates. The system cost for one limb ranges from 8 to 15,000 UAH. So far, we have supported five patients by allocating $ 2025 from the Foundation's reserve.
You can contribute to affected Ukrainians who need metal osteosynthesis on our website in the "Cases" section.
