At the LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB, we open the world for our pupils in all its grace every day. The hub’s methodologists are convinced that it is so important to develop comprehensively! Therefore, we always work to inspire and surprise the lion cubs and try new things together.
This time, we created a real chocolate fairy tale for them! On the occasion of Children’s Day, LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB, with the support of our regular patron Vadym Stolar, held a master class on candy making. The children created sweets and then enjoyed tasting them. There was a sparkle in their eyes, a warm aroma of cocoa, and focused hands that crafted their first sweet magic.
Such inclusive workshops are more than just entertainment. It is a way of gaining knowledge about the world through sensory experiences and establishing trust.
It is also a part of therapy that develops sensory and motor skills and concentration in children on the spectrum.
"Through creativity, children express their emotional state, relieve themselves, get rid of certain fears, and reduce anxiety. And most importantly, they go through an experience where they feel needed and involved in teamwork. This is important for both children and parents," comments Iryna Mandryk, a methodologist and art therapist at the hub.
Currently, 50 IDP children from Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regularly attend correctional classes at the LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB in Lviv. Over the 2 years of its operation, LEVCHYK has conducted more than 12,000 free correctional classes for IDP children with autism spectrum disorders. Moreover, we will soon open LEVCHYK in Mykolaiv to provide free correctional assistance to families in the southern region.
“We have already signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Mykolaiv City Council. Now we are in the process of preparing all the documents and searching for premises. We are happy that LEVCHYK is expanding its geography and will be able to be a support for even more IDP families raising children on the spectrum,” said Olena Nikolaienko, President of FFU in the United States.
We are grateful to the Lviv Handmade Chocolate team for their help in organizing a real chocolate fairy tale for children! We hope that very soon we will be able to make even more children across Ukraine happier and give them the necessary help and incredible emotions.
