On September 1, the Future for Ukraine Foundation traditionally launches ‘School Nostalgia’ charity initiative,, which brings together Ukrainian food brands to help children on the spectrum who have been forced to leave their normal lives and homes due to the war.
The initiative’s idea is simple, warm, and sincere, just like childhood itself: favorite dishes from the school cafeteria will now be prepared by the popular restaurants, and you can taste them while donating. This year, the menu has become even more interesting — Yevhen Klopotenko restaurants’ ‘100 rokiv tomu vpered’, ‘Poltava’ (Kyiv), and “Inshi” (Lviv) have joined the initiative.
Guests are offered a charity dish — a shepherd's pie from the new school menu that Yevhen is developing for Ukrainian schools. This is a unique opportunity to try what modern and healthy food in school canteens could look like!
This year, the initiative is supported by Milk Bar, Namelaka, Mimosa Pizza, Zhyttya Bentezhn, Cheesecake Family, Pizzeria Avtostantsiya, Cafe & Bakery Tisto, ESSEYists, Soul Cafe, Ristorante 8/8, BROOKS (Dnipro), Remi Cafe, MARIE Patisserie (Poltava), Coffee Records, as well as GudFoodHome, a frozen meal delivery service. The menu includes charitable items, real gastronomic memories: sausage in dough, mini pizzas, sweet Potato cake, nuts with condensed milk — everything that takes you back to your carefree school days.
All proceeds from the charity “School Nostalgia” dishes will go to support LEVCHYK SPECTRUM HUB — a safe space for IDP children on the spectrum, where they receive free correctional help, socialization, and the opportunity to prepare for successful integration into society.
The initiative will launch on August 31. Join us to not only relive the taste of childhood but also to give children with ASD more opportunities for development, education, and a happy future. Doing good together is easy!
