Hanna Kovalova. President of Future for Ukraine

Before the full-scale invasion began, I led successful creative agencies and dreamed of building a type of journalism where meaningful news stories shape public opinion and strengthen Ukrainian identity.

In 2022, the priorities and needs shifted — the key questions became how to survive, how to endure, and how not to lose our future. That’s why humanitarian support and charitable aid for Ukrainians affected by russian armed aggression became my priority. In March 2022, together with a team of like-minded professionals, I founded the Future for Ukraine charitable foundation.

Later that year, I consciously returned to business and reinforced its profitable core. A new challenge emerged — the information front. To persevere, we must see the world clearly, respond to events with awareness, and at the same time rebuild our national identity.

I acquired two relatively small media projects at the time — Novyny Live and TyKyiv — and scaled them more than fivefold. Today, they rank among Ukraine’s top industry and brand leaders. Novyny Live provides objective coverage of the country’s most important developments, offering expert and independent analysis. The TyKyiv project focuses on the youth shaping the modern history of the capital. With its attention to current events and support for emerging talent, it has become the city’s informational pulse.

To effectively share the truth about the war, uphold Ukraine’s image, and help shape the global discourse around key topics, we have launched an international network of correspondents in nine countries. This is more than just geographic expansion — it’s a true strengthening of Ukraine’s influence in the global information space.

These two directions — the foundation and the media group — focus on different, but equally vital aspects for the country: providing aid to citizens affected by the war and developing a trustworthy, authoritative source of information about Ukraine, both for domestic and international audiences.

I am proud to bring such socially important projects to life and inspired by the teams who, independently of one another, are moving toward our shared bright future. This year, we also plan to relaunch the agencies in a new format.

Together with the Foundation team, we base all our projects on transparency, legality, and accountability, and those principles are carefully upheld by the Supervisory Board. These values are timeless for us. Day by day, we move forward with our partners, donors, and volunteers toward our common victory.

I firmly believe that trust is not measured in words, but in consistent daily actions.
