He, like every Ukrainian, had his own life before the full-scale invasion. But because of war, he changed his peaceful profession to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a defender of his native land.
Having gone through fights with the enemy, a severe injury, amputation of a limb, and terrible phantom pains, Serhii Lukerievas did not lose his zest for life! Right now, the defender is undergoing prosthetics and rehabilitation at the leading MCOP clinic in Washington, USA, under the supervision of specialists.
Introducing Serhii, we wish you knew our heroes and did not forget at what price each centimeter of our land is won.
Before the war, military man Serhii Lukerievas worked as a miner at the Ternivska mine. The war forced him to put aside his mining equipment and exchange it for weapons.
On 24 July 2023, the defender was at the position near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya region. An enemy mortar attack began, as a result of which Serhii was seriously wounded. The soldier received immediate assistance from his comrades. They helped evacuate the wounded man to Orikhiv. There, doctors had to amputate Serhii's injured leg.
Now Serhii is in Washington, D.C., where he is taking his first steps on a prosthetic leg. He dreams of recovering as soon as possible and building a strong family with his beloved. Donate to the Prosthetics of the Ukrainian Military 2023 project for our defenders by following this link.
