The story of soldier Serhiy Kriukov: fighting on several fronts

There are heroes in the Armed Forces who manage to defend the military and economic fronts. One of them is Serhiy Kriukov from Kyiv. For the past eightyears, he has been running his own business, and when he volunteered for the war on February 25, he did everything possible to keep his business working.

Serhiy was born in the Kharkiv region and has lived in the Ukrainian capital for 15 years. After February 24, the man immediately went to the military enlistment office. Later, he was appointed a squad commander of the 136th Territorial Defense Battalion, which later came under the control of the well-known 93rd Brigade «Kholodnyi Yar» in the Bakhmut direction.

The hottest spot of the war has constantly been suffering fierce hostilities. During one of these battles, which lasted 6 hours, Serhiy Kryukov sustained a mine-blast injury. A shell fragment hit his foot and shattered it, and as the battle continued, Serhiy could not even hope for outside assistance. So he was forced to give himself first aid and get to the evacuation point.

The man managed to do everything on time and correctly. First, he was admitted to a stabilization hospital in Bakhmut, and then he also went to hospital wards in Druzhkivka and Dnipro. From Dnipro, Serhiy was transported to Kyiv, where he underwent surgery. The Future for Ukraine Foundation received a grant from RocMaidan, a charitable organization of the Ukrainian diaspora in America, which helped pay for Serhiy Kryukov's surgery to install a metal osteosynthesis system.

In the near future, the man hopes to go to Germany for rehabilitation. There, he wants to see his mother, who is currently undergoing treatment for stage four cancer. Serhiy realizes that time may be short, so he wants to spend at least some time with his closest woman.

Serhiy stays optimistic about the future. He wants to continue developing his business. He also hopes to return to his favorite hobby, motorcycle touring, as soon as possible.
