To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, FFU and its partners held a series of charity workshops to support the GIDNA project, which provides anonymous and qualified psychological help to women survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV).
On June 19, BURSA hosted the final event — a charity brunch that brought together opinion leaders and women entrepreneurs to discuss the importance of mutual support and assistance.
During the event, Anna Hrubaia, a psychologist and curator of the GIDNA projectʼs, gave a lecture on CRSV because help begins with a deep understanding of what violence is, how to recognize it, and how to help a person who has experienced or witnessed it.
"For women survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, it is tough to talk about their experience because of avoidance of memories of what happened, denial, fear of judgment, guilt, and not knowing where to go for help and whether it will be safe. The trauma of CRSV is about internal shame, the desire to run away from it forever, and never look back. At the same time, we are sure that qualified help is necessary to restore a woman's sense of security and give her the strength to move on," summarizes Anna Hrubaia.
As part of the event, NUGA STUDIO held a master class on creating special keychains for the audience. Branch guests had the opportunity to create a word-symbol from beads in Morse code.
The brand also presented exclusive GIDNA charity keychains to support the project. “This bracelet is like a silent 'I'm with you' encrypted with Morse code. Like a strong knot of support. As a sign that dignity cannot be broken," NUGA STUDIO comments. You can buy a bracelet on the brand's website. All proceeds will be used to support the GIDNA project.
We thank our partners and guests for their sincere support and contribution to the future of Ukrainian women. Together, we are a force that changes the world!
