Another year of charity work in wartime brought a lot of new experiences for our team, which we desperately tried to turn into new opportunities. The first grant of $1.4 million, the first organized charity run with the amputee veterans participated, united over 1000 people, and the first conquered Carpathian peak by Petro Kulyk on the prosthesis. So many achievements in our joint work in the Medical Help direction prove that we have a lot of things to be proud of and something to grow for!
In 2024, the Future for Ukraine foundation attracted over UAH 21 million in grant support and over UAH 4.5 million in donations and partnership contributions for the Medical Help operations.
- Nearly UAH 60,000,000 was spent on prosthetics and physical rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders in the USA.
- 20 wounded soldiers with complex cases of limb amputation received 25 modern bionic prostheses.
- Over UAH 1,235,000 was spent on medical assistance to hospitals.
- 280 wheelchairs were transferred to the needs of hospitals and communities in front-line territories all over Ukraine.
- 30 electric wheelchairs were transferred for the needs of patients with severe injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
Funding from grantors and partners in 2024:
- UAH 18,537,627 from Pfizer Foundation;
- UAH 1,956,361 UAH from the BetterMe Health Coaching app;
- UAH 795,796.09 from Rochester Regional Health Foundations;
- UAH 115,835 from the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw)
Medicine and equipment provided:
- To the enterprise of the Emergency and Rescue Service of the Ukrainian Red Cross, which provides medical support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, for a total amount of UAH 1,000,000.
- 1 defibrillator-monitor BeneHeart D30;
- 11 semi-automatic defibrillators BeneHeart C1A with battery, bag, and electrodes;
- 1 Inogen G3 oxygen concentrator
- To the National Military Medical Clinical Centre "Main Military Clinical Hospital" for a total amount of UAH 3,000.
- 5 packages of the life-saving medicine Olimel.
Humanitarian aid:
- 25 pallets of vitamins for the “Hope” charity foundation for a total amount of UAH 45,658,434.
Humanitarian aid was transferred to the Future for Ukraine Inc. fund in the USA by American donors Revival Foundation USA, Gari Care, and ESW Trading Corp for the needs of Ukrainians.
Key events:
- Free training and practice for Ukrainian physical therapists and prosthetists from leading American experts. 59 specialists from all over Ukraine completed the author's 5-day course.
- Premiere of a short film about the soldier’s life after amputation, “Manifesto of the Strong”. A panel discussion on the topic of employment of veterans with disabilities and creating inclusive conditions in the workplace. The marketing and information campaign “Manifesto of the Strong” raised over UAH 300,000 for prosthetics and rehabilitation of our defenders.
- Functional training in Central Park in New York by veteran Oleksandr Chaika in support of Ukrainian soldiers with amputees. The representatives of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations in New York, and the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York attended the event.
- Meeting of Ukrainian veterans with Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth.
- Princess Marie of Denmark visited the MCOP clinic, where our defenders underwent prosthetics and rehabilitation.
- Meeting of Ukrainian veterans with Princess Marie of Denmark and Naval Attaché, Captain Marco Bagni at the Italian Embassy.
- Organizing the Go to the Future charity run with the participation of veterans with prostheses to support wounded soldiers in adapting to life after amputation. Over 1,000 participants joined the run. Almost UAH 300,000 UAH were raised for prosthetics and rehabilitation of soldiers with complex cases of amputations.
- As part of cultural diplomacy, our defenders attended the “Honoring the Brave” ceremony in the USA with the participation of veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, diplomats, and NATO representatives from various countries.
- On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our defenders, and the FFU team members attended an important diplomatic event in the United States, met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Ukraine, Russia, and Eurasia Laura Cooper, and key representatives of the military area, and spoke about the realities and needs of Ukraine.
