What does it mean to reclaim your life after losing a limb? This is the central question explored in the social video “Reclaiming My Life,” created by Future for Ukraine together with director Dasha Shi. The video can now be seen before every screening at Planeta Kino cinemas across Ukraine.
The lead role is played by Hlib Kravchenko, a veteran of the 3rd Army Corps, call sign Holden, and a participant in the Future for Ukraine prosthetics program. The 90-second video portrays the experience of one veteran: the looks he receives at the gym when he enters wearing a prosthesis, stairs without ramps, unwanted sympathy, and the support he truly needs from society. At the same time, his story reflects the experiences of thousands of Ukrainian defenders and civilians who have lost limbs and are now rebuilding their lives.
