To expand assistance to women during the war, we continue to strengthen collaboration within the GIDNA project. In this context, the GIDNA project of the Future for Ukraine Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem”, aimed at joining efforts to improve access to legal and psychological support for women affected by sexual violence during the war.
JurFem is one of the first associations of women lawyers in Ukraine, serving as a platform for experience exchange, professional development, and support for women in the legal profession. Since the start of the full-scale war, JurFem has also become a place of support for survivors of sexual violence and all forms of gender discrimination.
Anna Hrubaia, Head of the GIDNA project, which provides free professional psychological support to women affected by the consequences of the war.A woman who has experienced sexual violence has a broken sense of safety and requires careful support on the path to psycho-emotional healing. Our joint work with JurFem will enable us to support women already at the stage of the investigative process and minimize retraumatization
The subject of cooperation between Future for Ukraine and JurFem includes joint activities in implementing awareness initiatives, introducing innovations, and exchanging information in the field of human rights protection, particularly:
- providing psychological support to women who have experienced conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV);
- providing legal assistance for these cases;
- conducting joint information events and creating informational materials to raise awareness about manifestations and forms of sexual violence, as well as to provide information about available sources of support.
We welcome this partnership and are confident that together we will be able to do more for the safety and emotional well-being of Ukrainian women.
