Training for psychotherapists to work with the trauma of sexual violence

The Future for Ukraine Charity Foundation organized and covered the costs of the training for Ukrainian psychotherapists to help women who survived sexual violence during the war in Ukraine.

Cooperation and training take place within the GIDNA project. The team of consists of 10 specialists with extensive experience in working with the trauma of sexual violence. Why we invited the Israeli specialist Ruth Dorum to conduct a one-week course to develop the expertise of Ukrainian psychotherapists. The training took place from September 6 - 14th.

Ruth Dorum is an Israeli psychotherapist, drama therapist (MA), supervisor, and lecturer. In 2010, she completed her master's degree at Haifa University, then Jungian psychotherapy at the Kibbutz Seminary College. She has over 10 years of expertise in working with sexual violence trauma. Also, she works with Holocaust survivors.

Psychotherapists will work in the following cities: Kyiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernivtsi, and Zhytomyr.
